Monkey Hollow Project
Northwind was the prime contractor the
fixed-price Monkey Hollow restoration project in the Wayne
National Forest. This $492,000 project represents Northwind's
ability to manage fixed-unit price construction on schedule
and within budget. Northwind mobilized a full crew, equipment
and materials to the project site and successfully
self-performed this contract.
Northwind implemented the three-phase quality
control program on the project site and had a strong safety
record with no personal injuries. Mr. Derek Rhodes was the
Project Manager for the contract, Darden Rhodes was the
on-site Superintendent and Darcia North Wind was the on-site
Safety and Quality manager. Gretchen Marshall was the on-site
project controls manager.
Northwind was responsible for the restoration
of remote channels, designed frog ponds and closure of
abandoned mine portals. Northwind construction several miles
of access roads and support facilities for under this
contract. Northwind removed significant debris and waste from
the project site and disposed of the material in accordance
with state regulations. Work commenced on July 5, 2006 and was
completed on November 8th, 2006.
