Diesel Mechanic
Located in Barnhart, MO. 2 years minimum experience servicing tractors, trailers and heavy equipment. CDL Class A and ASE certification a plus but not required. Must be dependable.
Experienced Equipment Operator
Must be fluent on both track excavator and wheel loader. Minimum 7 years experience. Must have valid driver's license and transportation. Will be required to pass background check due to jobsite requirements. Willing to travel is a plus.
Technical Writer
Northwind is looking for a skilled Technical Writer. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide copy editing and writing support for proposals, reports, and marketing documents for an established contractor with primarily federal government clients.
This position requires a detail-oriented, well-organized individual who can work comfortably and collaboratively in a support role and represent the Proposal Group professionally and positively. Will have primary responsibility for both strategic and daily functional tasks of document production and will work closely with the firm's partners under the direction of the Proposal Manager.
Requires Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or other relevant area, and a minimum of 4 years hands-on technical editing or technical writing experience in a civil engineering, technical industry, or federal contractor environment with at least 1 year of experience working in a proposal-driven environment. EOE.
Must be willing to travel
Proposal Coordinator
This position is in Shelocta, PA. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Proposal Group and/or Proposal Manager in the preparation of proposal for submittal. This position will be responsible for publishing and assembling completed proposals, completing and updating project information, updating resumes on all personnel, identifying possible project opportunities, and reviewing solicitations to determine requirements in order to submit a thorough proposal, determine appropriate solicitations for the team to pursue, reviewing completed proposals for errors and correcting them, and other duties as assigned.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and able to use the internet effectively and efficiently. Bachelors degree preferred.
Construction Estimator
Northwind has an immediate opening for an Estimator for its Barnhart, MO location. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Estimates costs for prospective projects and assists on pricing and project engineering of current projects.
- Uses historical data and industry knowledge to estimate costs of all CSI divisions (1-16).
- Contacts subcontractors and material vendors and determines necessary resources to bid prospective projects by reviewing given drawings and specifications for jobs.
- Review all project documentation to garner an understanding of the project intent to accurately price the project.
- Analyze pricing from multiple subcontractors and vendors by scoping out and comparing their bids.
Essential functions include:
- Thorough knowledge of construction processes for multiple CSI divisions
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, project schedules, and bid schedules
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and various scheduling software
- Ability to multi-task and handle changing work priorities
- Able to attend pre-construction meetings and/or site walks
- Comfortable with the RFI process

Site Superintendent
Northwind is looking for an experienced site superintendent to manage the day to day project operatons of multiple geographic areas. we are looking for a qualified Superintendent who has experience managing and scheduling subcontractors, inspections, and be able to report project status to the company officials and Project Managers on a regular basis. Immediate need for an Earthwork-horizontal Superintendent, near future need for Building-vertical Superintendent.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Superintendent must have a minimum 10 years combined construction experience including 5-10 years as an equipment operator and 5-10 years of experience supervising field crews.
- Must have extensive trade skill experience in all aspects of land/site development and construction work.
- Must be highly skilled and have extensive proven experience in all site layout work, building and dirt work.
- Must be capable of creating and managing schedules, tracking material releases, managing vendors, and sub contractors from conception through completion.
- Must have strong verbal and written skills with the ability to maintain excellent relationships with clients.
- Must have extensive, proven expertise in Blueprint and Spec. book reading, Interpretation, and Implementing all work involved in the project.
- Must have a proven track record of safety in conjunction with all OSHA requirements and guidelines.
- Experience with Federal contracts a plus.
- Must be Computer literate; Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Project a plus.
- Must be willing to Travel throughout the United States.
Position located in Dover, DE and various other locations in the eastern US.
Annual salary: Based on experience.
