About Us
Northwind Engineering, LLC is an 8a
Certified, American Indian, Woman- Owned, HUBZone and
Disadvantaged small business with a history of successful
contract execution and completion for federal, state and
private sector customers throughout the United States. As a
Construction Engineering Specialist, Northwind and its sister
company RVFLimited- A HUBZone Certified Firm, have steadily
increased their overall capabilities as qualified and
competitive Small Business enterprises specializing in mine
reclamation, trail construction, stormwater management,
demolition, environmental remediation and transportation of
hazardous and radioactive materials. Since we are certified as
an 8a and HUBZone Firm, Northwind provides significant cost
and value advantages to Federal Clients. Northwind carries $ 2
M in General Liability and $1 M in Professional, Pollution,
Worker's Comp and Auto Insurance.

perform a wide variety of contracts.
History
As a young,
8a certified firm, Northwind has worked with a wide variety of
Prime Contractors and Federal Clients across the US. We have
proven our ability to perform contracts across a wide spectrum
of services to meet our customer's needs.
Consulting –
Northwind was founded to provide consulting technical services
to Prime Contractors and Federal Agencies. We have provided
project health and safety, quality control, site management,
construction management, estimating and proposal development.

Emergency Response Services
– Northwind has developed strong emergency response
capabilities that we have implemented following Hurricane
Katrina, Rita and Wilma. Immediately following Hurricane
Katrina, Northwind responded to support eh City of New
Orleans's Water Board in the detection of system failures
throughout the city. Northwind continued these services
through Hurricane Rita. Following Hurricane Wilma, Northwind
dispatched a crew to support reconstruction of over 200
buildings damaged at the Key West Naval facility. Northwind is
continuing this support at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi,
MS with the demolition and repair of structures damaged by
hurricane Katrina.
Waste
Transportation and Disposal
– In 2003, Northwind was awarded a National Alliance
Transportation and Disposal Contract with Shaw Environmental
and Infrastructure. Under this IDIQ contract, Northwind and
its joint venture partner,
Environmental Rail Solutions, Inc. has been awarded
over $20 million in Task Orders. Key task orders including the
USACE Buffalo District Linde FUSRAP Site in Tonawanda, NY, the USACE New York District
Maywood FUSRAP site in Maywood, NJ and the DOE Paducah Gaseous
Diffusion Plant in Paducah, KY. Northwind has demonstrated
capability to offer both rail and truck transportation and
disposal of radioactive or hazardous waste materials from
sites across the country.
Construction Management
– Excavation/Earthwork: Northwind, as Prime Contractor and
through a competitive bidding process, was awarded the
$494,000 Monkey Hollow Restoration Project within the Wayne National Forest. Northwind
self-performed the work under this contract which included
clearing, road construction, closing abandoned mine portals,
construction of engineered lined channels and construction of
numerous lined ponds. Northwind completed this contract on
schedule and budget. Northwind has the unique ability to field
large and specialized small construction equipment to meet the
needs of working with the National Forests.
Facility
Construction: Northwind is the Prime Contractor for Security
Upgrades at the Harrisburg reserve center through the 99th
Regional Readiness Command. This $232,000 contract was awarded
through the 8a selection process and Northwind is responsible
for installing new security fencing, electronic monitoring
systems and new facility exterior doors. This project is
scheduled to be completed in April, 2007.
Northwind,
as Prime Contractor, has been awarded a $20 Million Multiple
Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) with the Ohio Air National
Guard. This five year contract is for facility maintenance,
upgrades and new construction at National Guard facilities
throughout the state of Ohio.
Equipment Rental/Sales
– Northwind has an extensive heavy equipment inventory to
support our on-going projects. In addition to this inventory,
Northwind is an equipment dealer for agricultural and light
construction equipment. We offer this equipment for purchase
or rental to government agencies on the Federal, State and
local level. We have sold equipment to the National Park
Service and rented equipment on PA State Guam, USACE and US
Forest service projects in addition to commercial rental and
sales.
